Radio group Chrysalis said today its bookings for advertising slots over the summer months were showing "strong double-digit growth".

Chrysalis, the owner of Heart, Galaxy and LBC, said the current quarter, running from March to May, would come in flat, but that the June to August period was more promising.

This comes after a 9.1% decline in radio revenues over the first six months of the company's financial year, from September to February.

The company, which also has a music division, is considering a sale of the radio business as part of an ongoing strategic review.

It said today it was making "good progress" with the review and had received "a range of different proposals and a number of offers".

Reporting interim results today, Chrysalis said revenues across the group in the six months to the end of February were £58.3m, down from £68.7m last year.

"We are confident that we can continue to outperform our markets in the current year," said the Chrysalis chief executive, Richard Huntingford.

"This is an encouraging performance given the ongoing volatility and change being experienced by the media sector."
